Shake is a new architecture and design company in Boston, Massachusetts led by Timothy Pingree and Lucas Robertson.
Friends since childhood, builder Lucas Robertson and architect Timothy Pingree founded Shake to marry their parallel disciplines. The result is a seamless, holistic approach to design and construction all in a single company. With this new venture, they were in need of a fresh logo to identify their firm. Tim approached our design agency and we began a logo discussion.
The idea behind the name Shake originated from a wooden shake, or cedar shingle. Shake’s architecture work is a solid foundation and deep respect for context – both regional and historic. And with wooden shingles being a part of the Boston, Massachusetts area, the idea behind the logo was to create a modern representation of a wooden shingle. The images above shows the finalized Shake Architecture logo design. The idea of a wooden shingle is married into a modern, timeless icon that will serve the Architecture and Design Company in the years to come.
